"Here is a man who has discovered the tragedy of landscape"

Dresden, June 29
I only had two hours, but, yes... Trinitatisfriedhof
And it was so easy to identify - while not yet close to see the letters, but just by the typography
It might look silly to browse his works on a screen
But it was out of my capacity to take an album of paintings during such a short trip
A meaningful life -- No grass in front of the grave

Post data:

1. The title is a quote by David d'Angers on his colleague.

2. In the first collage, you can see the three entrances of today combined with Friedrich's unfinished work named "Friedhofseingang" (Cemetery Entrance) of the same cemetery where he was buried later.

3. For more about the relation of his paintings with music (industry), please visit my album: Caspar David Friedrich on covers. Or also an earlier post.

4. In Trinitatisfriedhof there is also buried Friedrich Wieck, known to most of us thanks to his daughter Clara Schumann.
