Op. 25

Now it is 21:51 CET. And I suppose the "musikalische Überraschung" in Bonn Beethoven-Haus must have been already revealed:

A suite by Schönberg...

I have never mentioned this before, in order NOT to steal the surprise or illusion of any reader who might go (though the tickets were sold out months ago).

BTW I would like to list some other Op. 25 for piano solo.

The most evident one, for sure, is the second book of etudes by Chopin. To many people, this early recording of Pollini was much better than his popular DG version (OK, I shouldn't talk about interpretation here).

Thanks to some colleagues on-line, I got to know a bit more Op. 25:

- Scriabin, nine mazurkas
- Clementi, six sonatas (Or, did he compose anything else?)
- Medtner, sonata and another sonata

And what was Beethoven's Op. 25? A Serenade for flute, violin and viola.
Gute Nacht, all my lucky friends who have passed a nice evening at Beethoven's Birth House...
