In diesem Hause starb Franz Schubert →→→→→→→→→→→ ↓
No one feels another's grief
No one understands another's joy
People imagine that they can reach one another
In reality they only pass each other by
Life is hopeless, but not serious...
15 hours after the last recital of Cuarteto Casals' Schubert Cycle, I departed toward Bordeaux, where later I found certain combination that might be called "The Death and the Maiden":
1828 was the year of death not only for Franz Schubert, but also for Francisco Goya, who was buried in the Cimetière de la Chartreuse for 71 years (until 1899). I got to know this thanks to a film which was released during the first years of my Spanish study: Goya en Burdeos. Nowdays, a monument occupies where there was the grave:
No more about death...
1828 was also the year of birth for Jules Verne. Actually I had chosen Nantes as my last stop just because of the flight, not expecting at all an encounter with the hometown of such a great travel-dreamer!
Thus, a round end for my journey... But that will be the next story.
