NOW or NEVER

It's gray
It's cold
It's VIENNA!
Delayed from the end of last year, now finally I'm where I always thought I was not prepared to visit. Specially after my Bonn experience, I considered Vienna would be much more "HEAVY", if my poor little heart couldn't even hold the young Beethoven... As if knowing what I was doing, the weather has turned cold again, so freezing that I cannot take my hands out >.< Thus to give a real end to my "Winterreise".

No concert this time. But I had TWO wonderful ones last night in Barcelona. Tchaikovsky 1st PC via Denmark radio live broadcasting (plus a Rachmaninoff prelude encore) which has nothing to do with Vienna except the pianist.

So full of passion and in state - What an unexcepted way to finish my busy office afternoon. Then I went directly to l'Auditori, for two Mozart PCs with Mitsuko Uchida conducting from the piano.
No. 17 and 25 are not my favorite ones, but I instantly felt the performance touching enough, though not knowing the cadenzas and ornaments she might have added freely, which she normally does with Mozart. Curiously, the hall was only half full, which meant much less coughs!

In reality I didn't plan to visit anything first or last... but Mozarthaus is open for an hour longer (until 7 p.m.) than other places (until 6 p.m.). So I went there after arriving in the afternoon.
The house is barely conserved but it is still the house. Hummel also lived here for a period of time in his early years (as resident pupil). Besides The Marriage of Figaro, behind those windows Mozart composed the exceptional dramatic D minor Concerto (K. 466)!!! I think I will learn it again when I go back!!!
Gute Nacht...To be continued tomorrow:
